As a freelance puppeteer, writer, actor, voice actor and singer with a passion for high quality family entertainment, Jake has toured the US with the Jim Henson Company, collaborated with picture book legends Eric Carle and Sandra Boynton, and has worked off-Broadway (in the original cast of the Drama Desk-nominated The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show), at Seattle Children’s Theatre, at Town Hall, on Sesame Street, with Sesame Street in Communities, and with The Muppets.
Jake is an alum of the Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Conservatory and the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, and has had the pleasure of writing, studying, and teaching on the Highlights Foundation campus, the original home of Highlights Magazine. He’s an animation voiceover/puppetry coach with Great Big Voices, and he’s independently designed puppetry and character development workshops for Prospect Theatre Company, Two River Theatre Company, and the Mid-Atlantic Voiceover Conference. Currently, he’s developing his debut picture book and serving as the Associate Director on The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show as it embarks on its first national tour around the US. Jake is based in New York City.
